Meditation Retreat with Zen Master Wu Kwang

"Zen Master Wu Kwang (Richard Shrobe) is guiding teacher of the Chogye International Zen Center of New York. Before he began practicing Zen he studied intensively with Swami Satchidananda, living with his family for four years at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York. He has a Master's degree in Social Work and did six years of postgraduate study in Gestalt. He started practicing with Zen Master Seung Sahn in 1975 and received dharma transmission on August 1, 1993. A former professional musician, he now has a private practice in psychotherapy specializing in the Gestalt approach. He has authored two books, Open Mouth Already a Mistake a compilation of his talks and Don't Know Mind - the spirit of Korean Zen a book on the roots and teachings of Korean Zen.

Non-Members $55/day
KUSZ Members $40/day
Dharma Teachers $30/day
Prices include overnight housing, formal vegetarian meals, and private interviews with the Zen teacher. Limited scholarship or alternative methods of payment may be available for those in need.
